Yeah, today was one hell of a sell off. For those who think tomorrow will be a good time to buy, unless you're a pro, dont do a thing. Just forget about your stock portfolio and check it again 6 months from now.
Get out now. I've seen this before in 2000. Everyone starts saying, "just a hiccup", "now is a great time to buy" and "we were due for this". Advisors are all telling clients not to worry, which is bullshit.
Get out now, buy back later when things calm down. Stop orders are an awesome idea, lock in the remainder of the gains you've made and stop the bleeding. Otherwise you're fucked.
I sold 5k worth of stocks last week . I got what I wanted for it.
I'm still keeping some investments but they don't consist of a lot of stocks... it's more like safer mutual funds composed of bonds and shit... of course it's gonna drop but whatever...

Why should U.S stock holders worry? Our stock market wasn't overinflated neither did anything change with any of the large corporations. People panicked, that caused stocks to fall.

yea, I'm optimistic about the market too, it was a pretty bad day, but hardly reason to panic yet... 3% drop isn't THAT bad, sucks for Chinese investors though, 9% in a day is rough :-/

Perhaps you didn't know but what a company is doing/was doing/will do in the future is basically irrelevant to the price of their stock. Their stock price is determined by two factors, greed or fear. People drive stock prices, not corporate changes. You have to be ahead of the herd to win, but if you think the herd mentality doesn't matter in the stock market, you're way off. What the herd thinks is all that matters. Why do you think all analysts always have basically the same recommendations? Every one is afraid to go against the herd. Their jobs are on the line. The herd is influenced by many factors, but what the companies are actually is not very relelvant. They could be a shit ass company and still be worth quite a bit, just because enough people that it should be that way.
hmm it was a market corrections, us factory orders are slightly down and it didnt help that the asian market took a dump, they have been fueling the us with cheap money for years..
i didnt sell any stocks.. as the market will come back, it is stupid to sell when the low already hit.. it is not a market crash like in 2000.
good stocks to look at now could be IGT, the leading US mfg of gambling and slot machines..they also pay divs.
