someone is using one of my domains to spam

I have been getting a lot spam that looked like returned mail. some of it is actual spam, but some of it actual returned mail. It looks like some fuckwad is using my domain to spam. He hasn't gotten into my server because the emails aren't coming from my server, he is just using my domain as the return email address. I have a catchall on that account so anything sent to that domain I get.

I would like to find out who this is that is using my domain name. Any ideas on ways to go about this?

Good luck with that, have that problem as well..

The spammers are probably making use of available Bot-Nets worldwide,
so You would basically be chasing regular users with infected OS's... :\

It's looking more and more like they are just using my domain with made up names in the return-to area of their spam software so that it looks like I am the one sending it. Not much I can do except hope that the stop.

don't worry, it's not going to stop ;)

I've been "spamming" from one of my domains for years, luckily now they slowed down considerably because I only get a few of those return mails, when I "started spamming" I used to get a few hundred a day

notify your host just in case so they know that it's not you

I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago with 2 of my domains, I was getting 100's of requests to be taken off my mailing list, and I never even had a mailing list, that went on for months, fuckers

Few hundred a day? Last week I was waking up each day to some 10,000+ returned emails
                .

once i had phpnuke on a site, that piece of shit is one huge risk

Sending out 100K+ messages a day, the provider blocked my site forever because of this hack!
