A WOMAN was bashed by a group of men after she rescued a kitten that was set on fire in southwest Sydney.
"The woman rescued the cat after it was set on fire at Ambervale yesterday afternoon, police said. The man who set the cat on fire returned with three other men hours later and beat up the 36-year-old woman. The rear window of her car and the front window of her house were smashed during the confrontation, police said.
The woman was taken to Campbelltown Hospital with cuts and bruises. An 18-year-old man was charged with aggravated cruelty to an animal, assault and affray. A 21-year-old man was charged with assault, intimidation, affray and malicious damage, and a 24-year-old man was charged with assault, affray and malicious damage.
The trio will appear in Campbelltown Local Court today."
