Now to re-iterate the $8 per sale. Imagine you order a pizza delivery place. your large deluxe pizza costs $19.95. Are you going to pay the delivery driver $10.00 to deliver the pizza for you. If you think from a business standpoint it really confuses me.

From your pizza analogy, you are looking at all wrong. Lets say out of that $20 pizza, the total costs to make it including labor come out to $6. Then you turn around and pay out $10 to someone to market and sell it for you and deliver it which leaves you $4 in net profit. Your choice is to pay out $8 to the marketer/seller and increase your margin to $6. In the end you can move 100 pizzas a month and make your $600 net profit, or you can sell 1000 pizzas and make $4000 (1000 x $4) net profit. Its all about total profit dollars.
The only reason you would be stuck with having to pay out 40% is because either you are being greedy on what you think you should make on each sale or those who produced your content and designed your site are asking for too large of a chunk and not leaving much left over for you. If you are indeed the model, my apologies, but I would have expected the model to have been much more open minded, its usually the webmasters who think they know it all.
