Damiano Mr. Pizza
412 N Fairfax Ave
Los Angeles, CA 90036-1717
(323) 658-7611
Cross Street: Oakwood Avenue
In Short
Customers waiting for takeout or tables in the low-lit dining room usually spill onto the street, especially after last call at nearby nightclubs. Pizza is served both New York-style, with a foldable thin crust, or in thick, doughy Sicilian wedges. Pies can be customized with newfangled toppings including spinach, fontina and sun-dried tomatoes, or traditional pepperoni, mushrooms and olives. Mammoth calzones, baked pastas, salads and appetizers like calamari fritti, mozzarella sticks and stuffed mushrooms round out the menu
When to Go
Anytime at all. The place is open (and often packed) till dawn, both for restaurant dining and delivery.
The Extras
No delivery is too far for Mr. D's pizza crew--as long as you're willing to pay appropriately. For example, a delivery to Silver Lake adds a $10 service charge to the total.
Can you get real pizza outside of the NYC area?
Try NY pizza and youll never wanna eat pizza anywhere else again. No offence to Chicago or Cali, but when people say pizza they think NY, all others just dont compare. Damn now i need to go get a few slices.
No you can't!!! Been down in Florida for 15 years and still haven't found a really good slice.
Raimos, on the Syosset/Plainview boder..Long Island, NY!
Holy fuck dude... I grew up like 2 mins from there -- right in between the LIE and Northern Parkway (went to Baylis Elementary), and every time i go to NY, I gotta drive out to Syosset and gets me a slice. or 2. or 3. Was just there in July. And ya gotta go up Woodbury Rd to Heinstadt's Deli. Awesome potato salad. I moved out of the area when I was 8, and i've been trying to find a comparable pizza since then.
Of the places that I've found: San Francisco, CA: Marcello's, Castro and Market. Sacramento Area: Mama Nardi's or Giovanni's and sometimes Sbarro's. (sometimes they are good, othertimes not so much.)
But besides the pizza, I really miss the bagels as well... Can't get bagels at all out here. They're just rolls with holes. Blech.
If you put instant coffee in the microwave, do you go back in time?
the best was is definately Brunos in canoga park, ca right down the street from the dmv. but he sold it and the new owner changed the way they were makin pizza...now the only great pizza joint in cali is uncle mikes on desoto and vanowen....they are one of the last places to go that doesn't substitute the quality just to make a healthier meal.
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60. Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text.

Funny story about NY bagels, when i use to travel all over the country for work, one of the place i went to on a regular basis was virginia. Once everyone in the hospital found out i was from NJ/NY area they started asking me to bring bagels down for them. It got to a point that i would have the bagle place make the bagel for me early in the morning, i would pick them up on my way to the airport and i had to have a seperate suitcase to fit all the bagels. Boy you should have seen the faces of the luggage checkers when they looked in my bag. It got to a point that i was bringing 100 bagels at atime down with me. But i know why you cant get a good bagel outside the NY metro Area. Hmm Maybe a good idea for a business, overnight NY bagels.
