Have them forward you the email you get when you donate. Let them take out the money amount if that worries them. If it a nice thing you are doing don't let the jerks ruin it.

Granted, it's on the news, but from what I've read, the RC were the only ones providing food and water for refugees for the first several days.

The Red Cross was told not to go into New Orleans by the city and state officials who wanted people out of the city feeling that if aid was sent in to the city people would not leave. Also, the first people offering aid in nearly every disaster, though often over looked, is the Salvation Army. All that aside, thank you for offering this Slap Dot!

About the Red Cross...

I was living off-base in Texas and had a house fire. They covered some of my bills and paid for a place to stay for about a month or two. Helped with food, etc...

im donating my time/volunterring locally, I orignally called the Redcross to see if they needed any more people to go down south but right now, they have enough there & being trained to go there next week (but they still need doctors & nurses immediatly). just waiting for the call back on Monday to see what i can do & where to go get my 2 day training

. i didnt just want to send money & be done with it, ya know? (which i did donate money last Wedsnday via their phone number)
