I have both....OSX is superior to Vista etc and I use a Mac for a media server... But Mac hardware blows. It's nothing more than PC Laptop boards in fancy boxes. The Mac Pro is useable, but my x6800 blows it away.
They gotta fix the speed issue.Comment

So what? I work up yesterday morning and I had a little update ready to install from apple on my Macbook pro, with the drivers for this. The same day that it became available. So when my card gets here on Thursday all I have to do is slid it in the slot and it works. That's the point. they are on top of the little shit like this, cards not even available in the actual stores for another 2 weeks and only available for shipping via sprint online but apple has already provided the drivers for it to work. I guess coming from a PC world I really appreciate this.
But I guess I do fit the profile of a "Mac User" more and more... I love Starbucks and go for one about everyday(Funny but I don't ever bring my laptop with), I work in my pajamas everyday, I demand perfection on anything that I have to put my name on, I enjoy working on my computer not IN my computer. Now I just get up and read the boards, do some work, play a little WOW and enjoy life. I still use a windows PC, just because I still own 3 of them. But, they are slowly being replaced.
It's also funny cause I was one of the true "mac haters" I didn't support them when I did IT. I saw them the way you see them. But, the new macs changed all that.Http://www.extremehole.com

First off there was not a bigger trash talker about macs then me. But that was before I tried one. No I have a mac book pro that triple boots OSX, XP , and Redhat 6. Its the best of all worlds.
You PC users are right in that the biggest problem mac's have is the user base. To many of the people that buy them do it for the style not the great bsd based OS. To many idiots buy one and then dont take the time to learn it . The dumbest emails we have gotten are from mac users that cant figure out how to play a windows media player file. Its such an easy thing to do that it scares me yet people find a way to mess it up.

I have multiple pc workstations and thousands of dollars in pc software for video editing, encoding, DVD authoring, graphic design etc that are working well for me, so switching to Mac is not an viable option at this point. I am not a hater though, some of my best friends use Mac for design work and personal computer use, and they like it a lot.Comment
