EVERYONE is a racist, and i mean EVERYONE, when people are racist towards me i dont take it seriously, i have black, asian, french, white friends, and everyone one of them is a racist, its the ability to understand the differences in races that makes it fun.

What turns my stomach isn't the usage of the word ni gg er (yeah, I said it), it's the double standards from the majority of the people banging their drums over their disgust of the word itself.

How many of you got up and walked out of the movie Training Day when Denzel said (to his white partner) My ni gg er? - Hang on a sec' - didn't he recieve an award for his role in that movie?

How many turn off Russell Simmon's Def Comedy Jam when one of the comedians uses the word ni gg er? You won't make it through one routine because it's used over and over and over and over again.

How many of you have called your cable company and cancelled HBO because they even air Def Comedy Jam at all?

While no, I won't blanket statement all of you - my guess would be that 99.9% of you didn't and don't do any of those things and yet you whine on this board because someone used the word.

What I find incredibly ignorant is the statement that *always* follows when a black person uses the word ni gg er.. They're black so they can say it but you're white so you can't. Isn't it incredibly ironic that a people who have worked for years to eliminate discrimination and fight for equal rights will so quickly put up a barrier toward someone else on what they can say or can't say? I don't see the NCAAP up in arms toward the entertainment industry to abolish the use of the word on film/television and haven't noticed any of you up in arms that they aren't.

Based on the second definition of that word - if you believe and or condone that it's o.k. for blacks to call other blacks ni gg er - then you are (by definition of the word) a racist.

There are absolutely "white trash" in this world and they're pretty easy to identify and if I hear somone call another person white trash - I don't get upset or annoyed no matter the race of the person who uses the phrase. Perhaps therein lies the problem. "White Trash" and "Cracker" just do not conjure up a mental image or envoke an emotional reponse on the same scale as the word "ni gg er" does because people are so idealogically biased that "ni gg er" only applies to black people.

Maybe we need a new word that describes incredibly unacceptable behavior that transcends race or gender that envokes the same emotional response as the word ni gg er does.
