Due to the winter storm - the wife and I were watchin' a list of cancellations scrolling by on our local news station this morning - and one caught my eye:
"Mac users group of Hamilton canceled today."
(I kid not)
And I thought...there's two people who won't have to go out in the snow today.
Macs are easy as hell to use, providing that you can get by without the right click.
LMAO.. just plug in a mouse with the right button and it works fine. I have both mac and pc. My mac just keeps working. I've had to reinstall windows 4 times on my pc and i only use the damn thing for gaming.

Believe it or not, theres a lot under the hood in OSX, so I'm not that surprised there is a user group.
That nice little GUI is running on top of a BSD subsystem. All the goodness from a typical Linux server or BSD server is all there. Thats why you see a lot of Linux geeks, Unix geeks, programmers, server admins (all people with a lot of computer knowledge) use em... Its like using their favorite Unix, but with one of the slickest GUI's around. Macs aren't just for the computer illiterate anymore
Mac = standard hardware (Intel Core Duo processors, standard graphics cards,...) + nice design.
Mac OS X = a BSD + a nice interface (nothing original, everything that was "new" in Mac OS X already existed in tons of windows managers for Linux).
Been doing a little encoding testing on one of my macs for the last couple days.. Interesting to say the least. The damn things encoding everything I toss at it in real time. I tossed it an hour long VOB last night, had it deinterlace , watermark the output, and of course resize. Used the Flash 8 Codec. Entire process took 61 minutes. Actually capturing the DVD and creating the Vob file in the first place? 11 minutes.
