Things will never be the same again and its very very sad, there are so many great law abiding people of color in this country and because the few pieces of shit in NO they are going to have to feel the repercusions for many many years to come. I love Nawlins and was planning to look for homes down there during my Halloween vacation down there this year, but after watching the shit going on with the poeple down there im rethinking ever going back to NO again.                                                                                                                                                                                                     My city was totally devistated by Hurrican Ivan last year. We still have much of our city that is complete destroyed. Thousands of homeless people who lost everything, some were given assitance but many were not. There was no looting, raping, or shooting at rescue helicopters.

                                                                                                                                                                                                    The problem with what is going on in New Orleans is not an issue of color, but an issue of moral and social responsibility. Whether black or white, this is a group of people that feels that the world owes them something. New Orleans is filled with several lower class people who were probably already on welfare, and they continue with that mentality now that it is the governments responsibility to bail them out.

                                                                                                                                                                                                    It was their decision to live in that area that is prone to hurricanes, and their decision to stay for the hurricane. While I agree that it is the right thing to do to assist those people in any way possible, it is not their right, but it is the kindness of charities and social goodness of the govenment that helps them. Whether they receive help or not, there is no reason for them to act as animals, to rape, beat, murder their own people. The group of people that is commiting these acts such as shooting at rescue helicopters should be taken out immediately. You can not endanger the lives of police an other rescue workers to help them out. While this is unfortunate for others who are not a part of this lawlessness, they should band together and take control. This would be a perfect time to see a group of individuals restore faith in the will of the people.

                                                                                                                                                                                                    What has happened in NO is a tragedy, but being a survivor of a horrible natural disaster, I know that people should pull together and help each other, and not rely on the government to bail them out. We don't see this type of rioting, rape, and murder in Biloxi or any of the other cities that were also complete destroyed by Katrina.
