What happens when they run out of female names for calling hurricanes?

They name them after guys names as well it's just not as common.. Hurricane Andrew wasn't a girls name.. Hurricane David hit FL in the 80's was a guys name..

They pre-name all of the hurricanes. They've got all the names set up through 2010.

That's funny -- a few years back there was a congresswoman from TX demanding hurricanes be given names that sounded "black".

They reuse the names every 6 years, unless it's a major hurricane, like Katrina. Major ones get retired. You'll never see another Hurrcane Katrina, Andrew, Charley, etc.
