    Trump?s Twitter -- Fake Followers

    Fake FOLLOWERS!!

    Almost half of Trump?s Twitter followers appear to be fake

    [B]ecause Donald Trump is the president of the United States and the most famous person on the planet, one wouldn't think he would need to employ a bot to boost his Twitter following. It appears, however, he might have done just that. As screenwriter John Niven pointed out Tuesday morning, Trump's Twitter account saw an unusal spike in followers over the weekend, many of which appear to have been created artificially. ...

    ... Trump currently has 31 million followers and, sure enough, if you browse through them you will find an unusal number of tweet-less, picture-less accounts that joined the service in May 2017. If you're still curious, you can enter Trump's handle, @realDonaldTrump, into Twitter Audit, a service that assesses the authenticity of one's followers, and find that only 51 percent of Trump's are real.


    So is Trump actually buying new followers? We'll probably never know, but there seems to be nothing more important to Trump than how his fame relates to that of other public figures, and it can't sit well with the president that there are currently 31 accounts with more followers than his. One of those accounts is that of Barack Obama, which boasts a whopping 89 million followers, good for third-most in the world behind Katy Perry and Justin Bieber.

    In case you're wondering, 79 percent of Obama's followers are real.

      Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants

                                                  My twitter account could likely be considered "fake" because I've had it for years and never really used it also no real personal info. I don't follow Trump or anyone else for that matter but if I did mine would be one of those "fake" accounts. Also the fact that anyone talking about fake twitter accounts who is in any sort of internet business is pretty stupid. How many actual "fake" accounts do you have?

                                                                      It would be a shame to lose his unique voice and the window into his mind at 3 a.m. Trump's Twitter account is a powerful asset, even if about half of his followers may be fake.

                                                                      Even Republicans argue that Trump needs to professionalize his White House. Why not start with upgrading his social media megaphone to common sense security protections? It wouldn't be too difficult a coding assignment to write an interface for the president, to be used on a secure device, that sends his tweets to a second pair of eyes before they go out. Such a process would prevent pocket tweets, embarrassing spelling and grammar errors, and hacker pranks. It might even prevent a nuclear war.

                                                                                          I honestly don't think Obama really cares that much that Trump won. Would he have rather Clinton won? Sure, but I think he would have rather had that more as a legacy thing for himself than actually wanting her to win. I don't think he really likes her, but he knows she likely wouldn't have messed with much of what he did. Trump is going to change some of that stuff, but so far what he has done doesn't really show itself to be bad for Obama's legacy.

                                                                                                                      Pretty much anyone can buy fakes for any Twitter account. It could have been a journalist looking for a story or a pro-Trump group. It could have been him, but I think his people would be smart enough to not do that knowing it could come back to bite them and I doubt he understands you can even do that.

                                                                                                                      My guess is that it is a group that likes him and thinks this will somehow get him more credibility.

                                                                                                                                          Ali ran an audit on Trump's Twitter account and found that 68 percent of his then-20 million followers were real. Now he's at 30 million followers, but only 51 percent are real, which means of 10 million followers Trump has gained since January, about 8.3 million are fake.
                                                                                                                                          Attributing the phenomena to unidentified and anonymous lurkers *could* be the reason but unlikely. You can just Google 'trump's twitter' and save the link. Of course, if you are a new user Twitter forces you to follow popular users -- is the @realDonaldTrump account on that list -- that may be a real reason -- since we are desperately seeking one.
