That dude from fuckedgoogle.com is a real fucking nutcase that dosen't understand anything in this world.
The site wasn't making money in the first place, that's why they needed an investor. The owners probably never DREAMED about getting the ammount they got for the sale... and they sold a % of the venture too the financial insitution.
They didn't bribe them.
