As aggressive drives go, I am one of the worst....
I was running late this morning and I was swerving through traffic and cutting people off......As usual.
The traffic started to bunch up and I saw flashing lights. "Fucking idiot drivers! Why can't anyone drive properly?" I though to my self
3 lanes were blocked an mine was the only one getting through, and I was still trying to block people from getting into my lane.
I don't like to be a rubbernecker so I tried to focus on getting by. Well, I got blocked off by a Fire Truck and had to sit there for a few minutes. At this point I was right beside the accident and I could see there were at least 4 cars involved. 1 being a huge gravel or salt truck. The accord took the worst of it. It was crumpled up like an accordion. I could see the steering wheel was broken right off....Presumably from someone's head hitting it.
About 20 feet from me I saw a bunch of EMS workers crowded around one of the wounded. Then, one by one, the look on their faces went to dismay
Three of them got up and turned away silently, and the fourth put a blanket over her head.
This isn't the first time I've seen a dead person, nor will it be the last, but it really puts things in perspective. Especially when we focus energy on the things that we really shouldn't get worked up about, because it could be all over for us or someone we really care about.....in an instant........
