    Sleeper car. Driver going back to school. 1 pic and 2 vids

    I went to the open drags a few months back and took the 720i because i was board. I knew when i saw this car launch for the first time there was alot into it. I talked to the guy for awhile and he said he had just gotten it back from the shop and it was running over 700hp. I got a few pix and I also got one of his better launches on vid.

    to his credit, the supra is the hardest car to hookup on the track to get a good launch off the line. especially if you've never driven one before.

    I especially like how clean this car looks.

          Isn't a "sleeper" car a car that doesn't look to be fast but is? Like a Datsun with 700hp would be a sleeper car.....a Supra....not so much.

                      the supra is a very easy car to hook up. i just have to give the guy props for not making the car ghetto

                          Definately aint no 700 HP what a bs load that is it only did a 12. Thats like 300 maybe. What a waste of money.

                              I would be embarassed if that was a video of me. With over 700hp and only running a 12.1 in the quarter? Either that car doesn't have the power, or the driver sucks ass. Prolly a combo of both if you actually watch him shift.

                              I only have 560hp and get into the 11's. And I suck at driving.

                                              Well thats the common problem with getting Supras up there, sure you can have 700hp but if you cant handle it and your car cant put the traction down, whats the point? It just becomes a numbers game, I got this amount of hp, I got that, there's no real point to it, people should talk about their lap times or quarter mile times, not how much hp their car has, whats the point?

                                                                      6 speed Supras are slow as hell. A guy with 1,100 WHEEL horsepower has managed a best time of 9.6. Now, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize how slow that is for the ammount of power.

                                                                      Now, there's a guy who has a Supra with a 2 speed GM powerglide transmission. The car has seen 1500 WHEEL hp on the dyno. He ran an 8.4 at 160mph, with the car making 1,100 hp at the wheels. I'm not sure if he's attempted a run at 1,500 hp yet, however, it's easily a car that will make it into the 7's.

                                                                      True, the car is probably a pain in the ass to drive, but that didn't stop him from putting 5,000 miles on it last year. For those who are going to call BS (not that I blame you, 1,500 hp out of a 180 cubic inch engine is kind of insane to say the least), here's a link to the 8.4 run.

                                                                      Now I don't know about you, but having a street car that's made an 8.4 run in the quarter mile would definitly be an ego booster for me
