Supposedly, the first guy (patient zero) to ever develop AIDS, was a homosexual who spread it like crazy in the 1980's, but the disease actually existed decades before that in Africa.

A retrovirus isn't something that wash fashionable 20 years ago - you can't be a normal virus, using DNA to replicate and suddenly 'mutate' into a virus that uses a whole different mechanism and nucleic acid to replicate...
