AIDS is not a "natural" virus. It was man-made in the 1950's, by scientists testing vaccinations (for polio I believe) in monkeys. This vaccination, derived from monkeys, was given to people in Africa. From there, it mutated into a retrovirus and the rest is history.

Supposedly, the first guy (patient zero) to ever develop AIDS, was a homosexual who spread it like crazy in the 1980's, but the disease actually existed decades before that in Africa.
