It's not flashy, but I promote another BDSM site that looks very much like it design-wise, and it sells just fine. Content is the kicker, and your content rocks. 
That isn't to say that BOSS1 doesn't have some valid suggestions. But I don't think that your site needs some major overhaul. Tweaking it would be fine for starters, imho. |

Personally I'm not a fan of slick, flashy-style sites...they tend to leave me disillusioned at times with a lot of hype and razzle-dazzle. Like you, I regard content as king. I also tend to think its good to keep the site easy to navigate and uncluttered with too much eye-candy. Subscribers have often told us they appreciate the comparative simplicity of the site and ease of navigation.
Sure, we could jazz it up and make it look just like the other cookie-cutters out there - but whether it'd translate to additional sales or interest...I can't say for sure.
Perhaps, idealistically...there's a middle-ground somewhere.
