I feel terrible for these people. If I were there I'd be thinking someone will attempt to steal my shit while I'm sleeping or while I'm awake. I realize these people are fearing for their lives for the most part and probably aren't thinking like that, but then again, could be some thugs up in there too.

You have the things that mean most to you and a bunch of desperate people all staying in one big area together.

That sucks to be them.

Had the pleasure of visiting New Orleans a few months back. You are correct in your observation. There are a few real nice areas of New Orleans where you party, but outside it, it is real bad. We had to walk down a real sketchy street after a night of drinking to get to our hotel.
