    I need a new DVD player - Blu ray or ?

    Should I wait and shop for a new DVD player or just go with a Blu ray compatible model?

              bluray is awesome.. much more capacity than HD DVD, and sales are outpacing HD DVD on a weekly basis...
              might as well start upgrading your collection now

                      I'd buy a regular DVD player for under $100 and wait for HD and Bluray to battle it out.

                              Just buy a nice $120 Sony upconverting DVD player. Upconverted DVD look virtually the same as HD plus you can watch any title - there is still a limited number of blu-ray and HD DVD titles.

                                                  I'd get a simple DVD player. I will wait till I see what happens in the Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD situation. Besides, prices will drop eventually

                                                          LG has a new player that plays both BluRay and HD DVD. You can find it at Best Buy for like $1200.
