A lot of the photos in the NSS are submitted to Playboy by photographers, then Playboy buys the photos. My photographer friend who makes a god damn killing selling his photos to magazines like Maxim, FHM, Front, Stuff (Mostly the European issues cuz he shoots nudes), shoots the models first, then goes to work selling the photos to the magazines. He used to be a Playboy photographer, but makes way more doing it this way. I've seen him make over $50k on just one set of photos.

Oh, and he never pays the models, they just want to shoot with him because they know the chances of him getting them in the magazines are great.
