I've been drinking since I was 12, so I know a thing or two about getting too fucked up.
HANDS DOWN THE BEST way to take care of all drinking related issues is to eat some bread and butter before drinking. The butter coats your stomach to take on more alcohol and it works wonders. The bread is just so you don't eat the butter alone (I tried that, but after a few nights of drinking in a row, butter tastes too nuts alone) and it helps soak shit up. I've been using this since I first figured it out around 17. I don't know if anyone else uses this method than my friends, but this is incredible. TRY IT! I've had so many crazy drinking days/nights using this method with no problems. Bad part of it is that it adds to the calories you get from drinking, but if you're always getting drunk, then calories isn't a problem.
A great thing for hangovers, as some have mentioned, is to drink a little. Not enough that you're getting drunk again, but enough to feed off your withdrawal.
But I'm not BSing you at all with the butter thing. Give it a try, if it doesn't work, I'll.... umm do nothing.
