Actually pardon me. The best way, is do them in seperate sessions and not back to back.
So I get up in the morning, have a powerbar and read my emails, then do an hour of cardio. Immediately after I have a big carb/protein combination shake. The I work for about 3 hours, before hitting the gym for an hour's weights followed by training.
The idea being that doing the cardio in the morning gets the metabolism pumped and running for the day. The body has plenty of time to recover the carbs and more importantly water spent during cardio. Between weights and fighting I eat fresh fruits to bring the blood sugar back up.
I probably eat betwen 3000-4000 calories a day but when I first started and had to lose fat, I ate a strict diet of less than 2500 calories. Always as little fat as possible.
