Search Engine Not Indexing Many Pages

My site www.siliconslave.com gets hit by the search engines several times a day and there are many pages that fail to get indexed at all. The site has been up for a year and only about 1/4 of the pages have been indexed. I was wondering if this is a common occurence? I have tried search engine crawler simulators and even the Poodle Predictor which says it crawls the same way Google does and they all seem to have no problem finding and indexing my pages. I have even tried submitting a sitemap to Google to hand feed it all my pages but still no luck. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Also, Google seems to keep old caches of pages it has visited and never seems to update them with the new content. Is this common?

    Thanks for your support,

your site is a PR1, I don't think google comes round more than once per month for a PR1. You could buy relevant PR4-6 inbound links. Also could look at what you're doing that may score you low for instance that tiny text in your disclaimer. See sig at bottom to learn about SEO, optimizing your pages could help bro.

        Thanks for your advice

Looks like I have a lot to learn about search engine optimization and how to apply it to my site. I'll add this to my programmer's to do list. If you have any other suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.
