AWStats - Anyone know the commands to update using SSH?

The link on my html output page is not working, and I am sure the log file is now to big to process even if it did. I know there is a way to do it through SSH but the instructions I am finding online are 1. not easy to follow and/or 2. not working for me.

So, if I have awstats installed and I know how to get into the directory, what command do I type in to make it update?

    Thanks,
    Bill

most likely it runs by root, ask your admin to do it for you.

I haven't been able to get a hold of him

I can get into root, I just don't know what to type into the SSH client once I am in the folder.

if you know where your awstats.pl program is.. ./awstats.pl -update -config=www.domain.com or whatever you put in after awstats.conf.x
