I tend to agree. Maybe I have cheap mentality but I just don't think it's very smart to spend that much on food even if you have a lot of money. I am thrifty by nature. I am also of the belief that "new money" doesn't know how to manage money as well as "old money".
Even if you are insanely rich if you manage money well you can have it last several generations instead of spending ... Lots of rich celebs are in bankruptcy because they don't know how to manage $$$ such as Toni Braxton, Mc Hammer....

Ah come on. Cooking at home rarely if ever takes 1-2 hours of work. I make the meals here and can say that on average it takes about 30 minutes average if you have to stove watch. Most baking and stuff is free time that you do not have to food babysit. Lots of meals also can be done in under 20 minutes.Originally posted by Sly

Here in SoCal, I used to think eating out cost more but I added up the cost of dinner for three of us the other night (that I cooked at home) and it was about the price of a decent meal at a restaurant (especially since I use buy one get one coupons!)
Meat prices have gone through the roof. On the other hand, I drove through Carls Jr. the other day and bought a chicken sandwich meal and it was $7 bucks! What happened to five! Soon you won't get out without spending 10.
