I have a sneaking suspicion that when the price of gasoline reaches a point where alternative cleaner and renewable fuels become cheap, you'll see those houses get turned into McDonalds. Seriously though, in economics, there's a theory of replacement...when a commodity becomes so expensive that replacements are cheaper, those replacements also hit an economy of scale and efficiency that ensures that their prices become lower and their quality higher.Comment

I'm sure some do. But market forces can tolerate 100+ per barrel price for so long before they look into other sources.
