haha don't get me wrong though...I love fake violence (I'm a huge horror fan)...and I also love MMA....but...streetfights and girls getting attacked...nah, not my thing

There's many different kinds of violence. The Japanese media and Japanese culture in general regard violence as a stylized form of achieving catharsis while maintaining relative peace and order. In a sense, the ultra violence of manga culture expiates individual angst and isolates it into a relatively harmless, albeit horrific, format. Other cultures view violence differently. Maybe there's something to learn there....
