In some ways yes, but in lots of way no. I enjoy the car as much as I can. I love just cruising around in it and sure sometimes I hit it hard, but hey everyone takes chances so I take mine as well in that car. Of course I wish we had an autobahn, but that will never happen here. I have been a car fanatic since I was about 5 years old. Now I am able to buy cars like that so I do. Everyone has their own hobbies and passions and one of mine is nice exotic cars.Originally posted by MonsieurIsn't it a total waste to buy that kind of car in the US with all its speed limits? Just wondering

And if you live in Michigan,it's like driving the autobahn.I made a run a few weeks ago from Madison-Flint in my M3.As soon as I hit the MI border traffic picked up to a steady 95.I made the trip, with one stop for fuel in 5 1/2 hours.422 miles

from your experience are the guys buying lambos paying cash or financing?Originally posted by MakoI perfer the Gallardo to the Murcie, price notwithstanding. In the Murcie I have problems with visibility, and it just never seemed to "shrink" around me. It always felt big. Fantastic torque though, stomp on it in any gear and it rockets forward, even 6th gear at low freeway speeds. 6.2L V12 will do that.
The Gallardo is nearly as fast, in head to head races we've done it needs to get over 100mph before a Murcie will stretch its legs over a G significantly. And to me the G is a much more practical car, I have no visibility problems in it, it feels smaller, actually it feels a lot like a more lively 911 Turbo to be honest.
Great car, highly recommend it.
As for e-Gear or not, you need to drive both. No one can point you in the right or wrong direction with that, it's as personal a decision as possible. You'll either love it or hate it.

I'm new to this forum and I'm very happy with it so far. Thanks for a great board!
BradShaw, what Ferrari did you own? I've had more issues with benz. I typically get my cars out of a guy in the US and he specializes in short term leases (nice feature), plus it's 100% confidential and my girlfriends can't find it in my name.Originally posted by BradShawIf you are going to spend that kind of $, get something that you can drive on a regular basis and be comfy in. It is very normal for them to squeek, was your F355 a Challenger? The brakes actually are ment to be used hard and increase in effectiveness the hotter they get and the harder you use them. The worst thing you can do with those brakes is drive out of the garage on a cold day and then stop hard (they will usually feel like you are trying to stop a big truck that is over weight). Run the car up to about 90 and hit the brakes firmly to bring the car down to 40 and repeat. Do that 3 or 4 times and you'll notice the brakes getting smoother the hotter they get.Originally posted by KarupLouThe only problem I have is that the brakes squeak. Its fucking annoying, but oh well. They used to do that with my Ferrari F355 and the dealer said because they were racing brakes they squeaked.
If I'm not mistaken, there is a brake modification for the Lambo and the Ferrari to replace the pads (only) with less agressive material that is more 'tame' and less quirky.
Let's make some money so we can all play on the highway with our Ferraris, Lambos, and Porsches!

Thanks KarupLou, Mako and PBucksJohn for your input about your G. I'm so glad to hear Lambo is much more reliable now. The guy at the dealership told me the same but you'll never know for sure if you don't hear it from unbiased Gallardo owners.
To all the people saying it's a waste of money, I guess you really enjoy your life and money if you think like that all the time. I've been working my ass of for the last 4 years (16+ hours a day almost every single day without 1 holiday). It's time to enjoy life
To all the people telling me I've bought a great car, please read the topic again. I haven't bought the car and never said I did. I just went there to ask for some info, see how big it really is and sit in it. That's it.
Will I buy this car in the future? Hell yeah
When? No idea yet.
To gangbangjoe, I've seen your topic. Awesome car but it's just coming to soon.
I hope you all enjoyed the pics, I know I did enjoy taking them

I prefer the Murcielago over the Gallardo. The Gallardo is too 'boxy' looking, even the rims look boxy. But yeah, Lamborghini has come a long way in terms of reliability and driveability, not that I would know 1st hand.
But if I had a huge chunck of money burning a hole in my pocket, I would go for the timeless -and still stunningly beautiful after all these years- Countach.

I hear ya Brad, but I got the Range Rover for most driving, just got the Lambo to crusie around and nights that I roll out. I am very comfortable in it. I will always have atleast 2 cars(1 exotic and 1 practical) so this will not pose a problem.Originally posted by BradShawIf you are going to spend that kind of $, get something that you can drive on a regular basis and be comfy in. i think the murcielago is one of the most beautiful cars... the gallardo's back doesnt look right.. i think i read somewhere that the back was designed later by someone else then the one who made the original design, and it shows.... but dont get me wrong its still a very dope car, lambo is my fav. brand of sportscarsComment
