I'd say sooner than 11 months. With all the talk about how involved Iran is in Iraq, it feels like they are starting to try to build public anger. Ultimately, we will provoke Iran into some sort of aggressive action that will warrant a retaliation. I don't think it will be before the second aircraft carrier battle group arrives, so that means at least another couple of weeks. It won't be a ground invasion, it will be a massive air campaign similar to what we saw during the first Gulf War. Its going to be very interesting.

thats true of every country. but few countries portray themselves continually as the last beacon of truth, justice and freedom while doing so. thats the primary difference between the US and the rest of the world.
that being said. i do believe Iran is a problem. when a country starts making threats, stops diplomacy, shuts out the UN... they have to be taken seriously. end of story.Comment

iran is nothing. there were nothing fighting iraq. they faught to a stalemate. iran survived in the end by having truck loads of fanatics charge through enemy lines and they weren't even armed.
iran is what they were 2 decades ago. just as with Iraq 1, they can be wiped out in an afternoon. tanks don't have the range or accuracy to destroy other modern tanks... missiles and rockets dont have the range or accuracy... they don't have heavy bombers, dont have new generation fighter planes/weaponry we have etc etc etc. not trying to waive the flag here, but the US truly has a very advanced military.
iraq did not lose a war this time because they were smart enough to just walk away and fight a guerilla war. iran does not have that option in a conflict. no one wants to depose their leaders or occupy their country... a conflict in iran would simply be a mission to destroy facilities which can be done from 500 miles away or 60,000 feet.Last edited by Pleasurepays; 01-30-2007, 04:25 PM.Comment
