but yah, they are fun but in the end they are an investment like all others.

perks are the ability to say work on Adult stuff or just post while your there, b/c customers don't require huge interaction

I worked in a video game store for like 4 1/2 years way back in the day.

They can be profitable if done right. The key is to sell both used and new games. The used games is where the good profit is at because you can mark shit up like 100%. Buy at $10 and resell at $20 type of thing.

Brand new games on the other hand have shit profit margins. Unless your a HUGE chain that can buy directly from Sony,Nintendo etc. (bulk volume orders), you'll be stuck having to go through distibutors in which case the product costs you more than your bigger chain store competitors.

I remember games that sold for like $49.99 were bought for like $40.00. Not much of a mark up.

But if you can find a good location AND offer new and used AND have enough people coming in to "supply" you win used games....then you have a chance.

make sure you have lots of video cameras all set up recording so you can catch those purple haired freaks stealing the empty display boxes. You could make a website and post the videos of the winners!
