Greed got the best of them when the first one unexpectedly took off, first as a movie run then with tremendous DVD sales, then the second one smashed records and became the 3rd top grossing movie of all time behind Titanic and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. So when Pirates started leaving the Star Wars franchise in the dust popularity-wise, they decided to make a fourth, and there may even be more after that one.
