He transferred ownership to his sister before going to prison and HIS SISTER gave them the ranch.

for those of you who have posted an opinon without reading the article, go READ the article.
This has nothing to do with the government just giving his ranch to immigrants. He beat a guy with a gun and was sued by the guy he beat. He lost ( actually never even defended himself ) and his sister gave the rance to the people who won the case to settle it.
Wake up call. If you beat someone up, no matter if they are on your property or not and they sue you and win and you don't have the money to pay them you will lose your house to them no matter where you live.Comment

The tragedy here is a guy who needed some treatment ended up in another situation where his temper got the best of him, but the bottom line is his rights and safety were violated due to a direct act of negligence by his government and state.

He deserves it.. it's nothing about protecting his property... you can guarantee that this guy and others went looking for the immigrants who were crossing the border, nothing to do with protecting his land.
He pistol-whipped the guy... if he did that to an American everybody would say that he deserved to go to jail and loose his ranch. The problem with people like him is they think if your not white and not american then your less than human or something.
