Bush administration would vote "against" last I heard.
    http://news.com.com/Bush+administrat...3-5833764.html

The Bush administration is objecting to the creation of a .xxx domain, saying it has concerns about a virtual red-light district reserved exclusively for Internet pornography.

Michael Gallagher, assistant secretary at the Commerce Department, has asked for a hold to be placed on the contract to run the new top-level domain until the .xxx suffix can receive further scrutiny. The domain was scheduled to receive final approval Tuesday.

"The Department of Commerce has received nearly 6,000 letters and e-mails from individuals expressing concern about the impact of pornography on families and children," Gallagher said in a letter that was made public on Monday.

I'm curious to see if there is any support for .xxx in any numbers at all. Will be interesting to see what happens at the Xbiz conference.

Yeah. If Bush sees our poll numbers he will change his opinion to oppose us.

(Note: Not really, he doesn't change his opinion even as a result of his own polls ;-) )

                just a question about .xxx

will the owners of .com will be given priority to buy the .xxx (e.g gfy.com to gfy.xxx) or there will be a racing contest on buying cool .xxx domains? If thats so... it will suck big time!

but if all of you ___.com owners will be given the priority to own the same ___.xxx domain.. it think .xxx can be given a chance...

                my 2 cents...

Much more effective than an online petition: send an email to: [email protected]

In the body of your email, explain that you are an adult webmaster in the adult online entertainment community and that you don't want .XXX

after that, throw in anything you want about free speech, red light districting, etc, etc... the main point that has to get across in large volumes, is that the adult online entertainment community does not want this.

keep in mind that the Bush administration has not made any recent comments about .xxx anymore

they were asked for it by the Christian groups last year and then they indeed heavily opposed .xxx until May 2006 when .xxx was killed as we thought

now 3 weeks ago .xxx has very suddenly re-appeared (ICANN said "they voted not to approve .xxx last year but didn't reject it yet) and although the Christian groups are vocal again, (although less vocal than before, they must be also tired from it ) the Bush administration didnt comment on it yet...so we have to wait and see if they will intervene again or not... lets hope they will
                        I don't use ICQ anymore.

Just another thought to throw into the pot...

There are multinational issues over .XXX TLD's. Several nations have already declared they do not want .XXX's and, at the core, object to ICANN having any authority to act on their behalf.

There is also the matter of the functions of ICANN itself being passed over to a democratic international authority where each nation will manage it's own .tld's etc.. Some "tension" already exists tho there was agreement to let ICANN run for another 3 years under a more relaxed policy. The continued attempts to implement a .xxx TLD are basically giving ICANN a hard time trying to pacify all parties/nations.
XXX TLD's - Another mosquito to swat.

Totally Against it. Too easy for ISP to push us in a virtual getho by blocking all .xxx domains... This have been discussed for many year now

.XXX works only if you can move your current .com, otherwise it's a scam to make money.

Please draft up a letter implying that the adult industry is once again trying to legitimize pornography once more and is attempting to pass a pornographic top level domain extension. That pornographers are looking to create a broader marketplace and expose even more of the Internet with their pornographic filth.
