Got to live every day as if it's your last my man, because you're right. Life IS short. And there's no guarantee of anything, anything at all, past life.Originally posted by rezdesignWhat do YOU think happens when you die? Honestly, think about it. To me its a scary thought to think we just "cease to exist" after death, thats depressing. I don't care if you believe in reincarnation, heaven or whatever but you gotta have faith in something. If all that we are living for is just this 70-80 years on Earth it would be pretty lame, its just too damn short.
Non-existance IS depressing. Make the most of the life you have. I've believed that for years. The hardest part by far though is the possibility of never seeing those you loved again, it's a killer. But the chances of non-existance being the end result are equal to the chance that reincarnation, or legitimate afterlife exists. Think about it.
As an example: What were you before you were born?
Answer: Nothing. Non-existant.

What gets me are these kids that for no known reason start talking about things and doing things totally unrelated to their norm, then to find out that the things they talk about pertain to someone who has long since passed, that they should have no knowledge of..
That's happened on numerous ocassions and quite interesting..Comment

And you know this to be fact how? I was a hypnotherapist for many years and have seen more than enough proof to satisfy me that reincarnation does in fact exist. No, I'm not going to sit here and try to convince you or anyone else, but for people to make statements like yours without knowing is just plain ignorant.Comment

Could be, I love stories like that. Where 3-year old kids can name specific internal parts in 50-year old WW2 B-17 bombers despite having never seen one previously. There are tons of them that lend credence to your hypnotherapy.Originally posted by SuckOnThisAnd you know this to be fact how? But if you can't remember previous lives, can't gain from them, it's the same as non-existance. Plus, who's to say reincarnation is a good thing? Your next life could be some tranny hooker in white slavery working the Warsaw ghetto. Reincarnation isn't all roses eh?
Oh wait, I know, I know: Only "bad" people get reincarnated as tranny hookers in white slavery. The "good" people get reincarnated as Hugh Hefner!
See how implausible it is?

Our brains and bodies could act as a "soul antenna". When it's damaged, things get screwed up.Originally posted by badmunchkinYour personality and what makes you "you" is all in your brain. It has been documented many times that people with head injuries develop completely different personalities and their old friends don't even know who they are anymore. Not to mention people who become mentally ill or get alzheimers.
Who you are is your brain and your body. Without it, you cease to exist. It doesn't make the slightest bit of sense to think this supposed personality, that exists in your mind only, will somehow transcend the barrier of life and death. It is man's ego that makes us believe this - we believe we are a superior, god-like creature, when really we're just an intelligent animal, who has the ability to imagine higher powers and comprehend our own mortality, which is both our strength and our downfall...Comment

Youve seen proof? Wow, that would make you the FIRST person in history with proof of reincarnation. The very fucking first....and where do i meet him. On gfy. Amazing. When are you gonna be nominated for the Nobel prize?
Man and i just kept on thinking there was no proof but fuck my cock, there he is, right under my nose on gfy.

As far as being reincarnated as a tranny hooker, nobody is reincarnated as a tranny hooker. It is all about choices and what one needs to experience in order to learn from a particular situation and to gain a better understanding of self.Comment

How come so many reincarnated people always seem to share a great number of past lives. All of this recovered via hypnotherapy of course. And always it seems to be everyone was someone pretty damn well off, rarely does people claim they were ntek nuk who live in africa and died of disentary by age 11.
I am also curious if between 1930 and say 8000 B.C. there have been 3.4 billion people. Oddly enough there are nearly twice that amount actually alive today. Please explain.Comment

Proof is proof. If you proof something it means it exists if i want to or not. Dont say you have proof if you infact dont have proof. Use another word.Comment

I go by two rules
1. When you elliminate all the "wrong" answers what ever is left, as rediculous as it maybe, must is be correct.
2. The simplest answer is usually the correct one.Comment

There is life after death. There just is not your own life after you own death. When a person expires they do just that, and everybody else who did not expire carries on.Originally posted by vicdI laugh at people who believe in life after death
It would be nice if there was something to look foward to. Unfortunatly it is an egotistical, selfish, and lazy belief. This is it right now as depressing as that may seem, so do your best to enjoy what you have right now because the very next second could be your very last.
Yeah that is is a buzz kill and very depressing, though what is more depressing is those that are wasting this their own life in prep for some magical afterlife. Unless of course they are pefectly happy doing what they are doing right now, most however are not.Comment

everybody so far failed? How the fuck do you know that? It wasnt on CNN?Originally posted by FranckMillions of people every day are trying to find proof yet everybody so far failed. Im a strong believer of reincarnation....as soon as someone shows proof.

For exemple.. you know that the Church officially recgonize exorcisms..? And I think they way they define it is the person has to speak couple of old langages like latin or something.. A 10yo american speaking latin? Proof for you? You havent seen that on CNN tho..
I have heard many hypnotherapists say that their clients saw themsleves as people living hundreads of years ago and told them historical facts they couldnt know about.. Proof? I dont know.. I wasnt the person hearing those facts and then doing the research to see if they were accurate.. But you know how skeptics are.. They'll claim those people read those historical facts in a book or saw it on TV.... Even if its statiscally improbable..Comment

I used to practice hypnotherapy on many friends and brought them into a supposed past life regression. I found it fascinating to hear what they would say, but never really believed it. The thing is, when you're hypnotized, you're not under control of the hypnotist, but your mind is MUCH more suggestible, so if the hypnotist tells you to see and recount past life images, you'll just go along for the ride.Originally posted by SuckOnThisActually you can remember previous lives on a subconscious level. There are billions more people in the world today, so mathematically it doesn't make any sense.
On another note, I love when Christians not only believe in their own life after death, because as humans we're God's special creation, but they also believe they'll be reunited with their dogs and cats when they die. Doesn't that discount the whole concept? If you believe dogs and cats go to heaven, how far down the line of evolution are you prepared to go? Lizards? Flies? Amoebas?
The truth that we all know in the back of our minds, but are afraid to accept, is we are nothing more then a highly evolved, sentient animal. We won't be reunited with relatives or our favorite childhood pet, we are animals - we are the most intelligent animal on earth (k, there are some that say dolphins are more intelligent then humans - but they certainly haven't achieved much with their supposed higher intelligence - I guess we just got lucky with our opposable limbs
) and we should just be thankful and grateful for that and our time on this planet.
In other parts of the world, Christianity or even thinking there is a heaven or hell is not a part of their belief system. So all those people are damned to hell regardless of how they live their lives, correct? What of people born autistic, retarded or mentally ill? What of a child who dies before he/she can have any understanding of life or death or accepting Jesus Christ as their personal saviour? They all get a Get Out of Hell Free card, right? C'mon, it doesn't make any sense.
It's tough to accept but this life is all we have. Make the most of it.

Actually most major religions (Christianity, Islam etc) lean strongly towards the belief that God only judges a person based on what they had in front of them. Everyone's circumstances are different, and they believe only if you reject God (even though you have the information available to you) than you will not go to heaven.Originally posted by badmunchkinIn other parts of the world, Christianity or even thinking there is a heaven or hell is not a part of their belief system. A question for the atheist's though, how do you believe the universe begun? How did all this come from nothing? I have heard theories of multiple universe's, and the theory (which seems to have a fair bit of support) that our universe was created by two other universe's crashing into each other, but still. I don't really believe in organised religion at all, but I have a hard time not believing there is something else. Not necessarily an afterlife (although I'd obviously hope), but a higher power. How could something like this come from nothing?
Even if science can trace everything back to the beginning of our universe (or the very first universe - if there are multiples), how can they still explain why any of this happened? It seems the only way (scientifically) you can say our universe was created is by saying two other things which already existed had collided into each other. But even if this is the case it doesn't really disprove religion at all (nor does evolution or the fact that we are animals). There is still a point where all this begun from essentially nothing.Comment

Bahá'í, Buddhist, Taoist, Hinduism, Jainism, Judaism, Shinto, Sikhism, Taoism and Vodun belief systems either do not believe in Hell at all, or believe it to be only a temporary state where your soul is purified and then allowed into heaven (or reincarnated).
The exclusionary Christian version of Hell, a pit of eternal flames & torment, says only Christians are accepted into the kingdom of Heaven. That means approx. 70% of the world would be damned to Hell.
