The beauty of it is that they get to vote too. I know I'm going to be hated on this, but IMO, if you don't pay taxes, you don't get to vote into office those who decide how tax revenue is going to be spent.
Now they have debit cards in GA, but when I was working in a small store in college that took food stamps, we always had people who would come in and buy 10 cents worth of stuff, you have to give anything less than $1 back in change in real money, so they'd do it several times a day, then just happen to have $$$ for beer and cigarettes - all in coins of course ;)Comment

See, buy a $20 bag of weed from the dealer who is not on welfare and you role a joint from the bag. Then you sell the bag for $20 to some middle class dude in a red cammaro who don't know any drug dealers.
Repeat the cycle for the next joint. After you cycle 10 times the dealer will like you and give you a free bag when you buy the next $20.

This is correct. Either that or they suffer from health issues they self-medicate with drugs and alcohol. Who can blame them.
As much as people don't want to hear it, the answer to welfare is sterilization or at least long term birth control. You can't collect welfare or other government programs unless you have children in most cases.
Very few of the children being raised in poverty actually grow up to lift themselves out of poverty and this exponentially creates even more miserable people who can't take care of themselves; population grows exponentially.
Drug tests are not going to solve the problem, sex without birth control is not a drug addiction that can be "tested" for.

agreed, but drug tests aren't going to stop that. there needs to be a comprehensive welfare reform movement. that program ABSOLUTELY must be there to help those who need it. they just need to figure out a better way to rid the system of abuse.
the only reason beer isn't illegal is because it is socially acceptable. but that is a whole other thread.
and you have a very skewed view of welfare. most people who recieve welfare are not too lazy to work, they just need some help when they are down on their luck. nothing wrong with that at all. that is why the system is there to being with.
and i still maintain that what people do behind closed doors is their own buisness as long as it doesn't effect their employer.
not all people have to pay for their drugs. many times they are offered for free at parties or from friends. ;)Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war.Comment
