I loved the Q.
If you could use it as a modem for a laptop I would still have one. It was the best smartphone out of all the ones I tried.sig too bigComment

I'm really digging it so far. I was able to run abpsa from it, check stats, and email. This is just what I need. I hate carrying a laptop just to stay connected. This thing is perfect for me.
PS I think it can be used as a modem using the active sync thing. I didn't try it but it asked if I wanted to setup dialup networking to connect a laptop.
Wifi would be the icing on the cake though.

Maybe they've changed it since I looked.
I tried it out the month they came out with it, and "tethering" your laptop via the Q or using it as a wireless bluetooth modem wasn't an option.
I ended up going with the Treo...paid a bloody fortune for it too, and then two months later they start running a special on it for $299.
I see you can get the Q now for $99, which is a screaming deal.sig too bigComment

Overall, I love my Q....but... : )
1) The phone is totally useless while compiling mail from the server. You wouldn't think it would be a big deal, but man let me tell you, when you really need to call or text someone and the damn phone inaccessible for 3 minutes, you can get pretty aggravated. I used to fetch mail every 15 minutes. Now if I am ambitious, it is every 30 minutes.
2) The password algorithm is ridiculous at best. On the Treo, you can apply one or two keys to serve as the code to unlock. Not the Q! It has to be at least 4 numerical on the simple one and that requires you hitting the shift key.
I love the phone quality, which is why I dumped the Treo. And the PDA features are "good enough.."
The Web is fast, as you have obviously already found.
And more important than anything else, it is pretty and well, sassy.
The phone is fucking sassy.
Pull it out in Starbucks. It commands respek.Comment
