Mike, they were only made from 1988 to 1991, and I think only for the European market. I lived in Germany from 88 to 92 and got a chance to rent one for a week. Drove it like mad through the hills of the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) and into Bavaria.

I wish BMW would make an M Z4, but they probably won't as sales of the M Roadster were so bad
they made the z3 M... it was called the M3roadster I beleiave and it was fucking fast, My uncle had one adn a kid in my car club also had one, they only came in hard top and they had 300+ horse power, faster than an m3
COol little car, but no room and incredibly uncomfortable and ugly
