I think I know Tanker better than anyone, we worked elbow-to-elbow for years and traveled all over the world together.

I don't think its necessary for him to defend himself here. Years of honest and ethical behavior don't suddenly fly out the window. Tanker's good reputation in this industry is well earned. I'm positive these accusations must be a giant misunderstanding and they should not have been brought to the boards like this.

I have never seen Tanker this mad EVER! I can understand why. I would think a person would have to have solid proof that one stole something from someone before going around to others and just saying "Hey, do you know who stole from me?" and then stating names. This is an unfortunate mess that I hope gets cleared up.

ElvisManson and I were out having drinks yesterday saying that there is no way in hell that Ellisa and Tanker would have stolen anything from anyone. I just can't believe my eyes!

I have no proof positive from EITHER side about the list being stolen or mailed. nor do i care

so lets ASSUME - and this is for agruement sake - a list was stolen and mailed.

now i'm not a mailer but i know one or two things about the game cause i know a lot of mailers

This is how i'd look at it if that was the case.
#1 - why the fuck were they allowed to get the list? that would be mike's own security problem really in the end and a reason to realize he needs better security in the future.
#2 - it's a one time hit - and sales wouldn't be more then 1-2% of that list cause it's obviouly been used before for other mailings....
#3 - If the mailing WAS done - it would have been done illegially - why not goto spam cops or the like and make it a living hell for that program if you have the proof?
#4. - What's done is done - it's in the past - i ASSUME it's not like they got all the new members and are mailing them every week is it? clamp up secuity and move on



As a life philisophy I believe what comes around goes around. I've had people come up and go on their own and become bigger than me. I'm HAPPY for them, DH is an example. He's fucking smoking me now, and years ago he used to look up to me as one of the ones on the top of the mountain. I'm fucking hugly proud of him and that he once looked up to me and still consider him a GREAT friend. I could have been jealous - but where would that have taken me? He's opened a lot of doors for me cause of it recently.


People OWE you NOTHING in this world. It's easy to forget that. Think about this - when was the last time you send a check off to the teacher that taught you how to read? Cause you wouldn't be here without them.

mike - this is my advise to you. clamp up your security and move on. don't let it happen again. but revenge and slamming someone although it may feel sweet isn't the right path.

if someone fucked you - karma will get em. and karma will get em 100X worse. forgive them and move on - but karma tests you to see if you let karma deal with it or it you felt the need to get involved in the hands of fate. Look forward not backward. You MIGHT save $1 by looking back but you'll loose a $100 opportuniuty cause you were looking back. that's a HARD philosophy to embrace - and i've done it to the tune of several deals now in the 5 figgure range and when i did I made WAY more - things FELL into my lap that made me a killing - litterally a KILLING - why? I have no fucking idea but it happened - every fucking time so much so that I totally embrace that philosophy now and do what I can to live my life by that frame of thought.

Simplest way for anyone caught stealing a list is to show an email with the full headers of the seeded email list. If that can't be produced, than stfu.

Where do you get your info from? Seriously, someone with a copy of DarK Mailer and 5 day old proxies does not a mailer one make. Explain how it was illegally sent if the list was stolen, and obviously an opt in one. I can't see why anyone would care for a General Interest list.

One reason they can't go to Spam cop is because they dont' have copies of any emails sent. Spamcop works for the person who received the email, not for someone who thinks their email list was stolen.

Good Opt In mailing lists last for a good long time. Espcially opt in members.

Easy enough to prove. Show an email from a seeded opt in email that has full headers that lead to the server from which it was sent.
