why do you need it? all it will do is cause much more stress on the server with sites pulling info from it

ya think GFY is slow now, wait till that gets turned on and everybody and their mother is pulling information from it

I think server will be less stressed, when forum users will receive posts in rss feed. RSS can be filtered (without pics). Just a text will not make a stress.

The RSS xml file can be cached, which would cause almost no load on the servers. vBulletin is incredibly database intensive, so if enough people used the RSS feed it may actually reduce load overall.

The other side of the coin; less people on the site, less on-site adviews and page views, etc. I'm sure lensman doesn't want to lower the advertising metrics of GFY.

Yeah - you can put ads in the RSS feeds, but that still doesn't translate to page views on the site..

I would like to see RSS Feeds for the board. I use a reader to keep up with other boards and it makes it super easy when they can all be in one place and you can do searches on the feeds themselves.
