I think some people just get annoyed with the barrage of donation threads for people who probably didn't give two shits about us the other day.

My comment was not directed at you - it was directed at the person who posted the heartless comment. Yes, we see them everyday (charity posts), doesn't mean it gives someone the right to be an ass. Didn't our parents teach us "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say it at all." Additonally, there are lots of people here who post just to post and say things that are totally uncalled for we all know that.
And certainly some people here will know her, as I do.
