Apple blunder gives Gates iPod royalty

Apple Computer may be forced to pay royalties to Microsoft for every iPod it sells after it emerged that Bill Gates's software giant beat Steve Jobs' firm in the race to file a crucial patent on technology used in the popular portable music players. The total bill could run into hundreds of millions of dollars.

This could work out in the long run. Just think how many people hate Acacia, even better way is to look at how many people actually like them.

Apple controling alot of the younger generations eyes could do the same thing if this gets enough press and their users realize the tactics microsoft is using.

In the end this may gain Apple some market share.

All specualtion ofcourse.

Yeah sure. People are going to start buying Macs because of this. Apple has had 20 years to convince people that they have a better product and they are still stuck at 3% market share.

Apple fucked up 20 years ago when Jobs got all godlike and insisted on his OS being proprietary.
