Jennifer Lopez and ex-husband Ojani Noa are set to do battle this month over his plan to sell a steamy tell-all book that would paint her as a cheater and man stealer.Lopez's bid to quash Noa's 'The Unknown Truth: A Passionate Portrait of a Serial Thriller' goes to Los Angeles Superior Court Jan. 29. But Lopez is hoping to dodge a messy public trial that could spill secrets from her brief marriage to the Cuban-born Noa. She has asked a judge to order that the dispute be heard in private arbitration. Noa, who came to the U.S. in 1991 on a life raft, married Lopez after a whirlwind romance that began when she spotted him waiting tables in a Miami eatery. The marriage, her first, ended in divorce 11 months later. Lopez sued Noa last year after she found out he was shopping a proposed 12-chapter tome that would describe "sensitive, private and intimate" details, including the lowdown on their first sexual encounter.Lopez's lawyers contend she bought his permanent silence with a $125,000 court settlement in October 2005 in which Noa agreed "not to disparage her or reveal intimate details about her or their relationship," according to court papers. The payoff stemmed from a lawsuit filed by Noa in December 2004 after Lopez fired him as manager of her Madre's restaurant in Pasadena, California. Despite the "hush" clause in the settlement pact, Noa's mud-slinging book proposal alleges Lopez cheated on him with one of her castmates from the 1997 film 'Anaconda,' court papers say. The horror movie co-starred Ice Cube, Eric Stoltz, Owen Wilson, Jon Voight and others. The book outline also alleges she had an affair with her third husband, singer Marc Anthony, while he was still married according to court papers. Her lawyers called Noa's claims "false and defamatory, salacious, inflammatory, invasive and disparaging" in court papers.Lopez's lawyer, Jay Lavely, says the 2005 pact between Lopez and Noa calls for arbitration, not a courthouse brawl, in the event of any dispute. "We're simply seeking to enforce that agreement and compel arbitration to resolve this breach of it," Lavely said.
