Tech How can i utilize two domains on single website.

i am working on mainstream site, its pretty basic site i.e. specific service provider site.

and 2 domains
www.word1-word2-word3.com
www.word1word2word3.info

now how can i utilize both of the domains and make more money instead of redirecting one to another ?

1) create slightly different 2 sites ?
2) create exact clone of first site ? and use it on 2nd ?
3) do 301 redirect ? from one to another and only focus on single domain ? in terms of seo and optimization.

Most hosts support "parking" a domain.. ie gfy.com a gofuckyourself.com and if you want to have each domain be it's own site just use some code or a script to change the logo, header or whatever.

I wouldn't recommend that. You'll be better of concentrating on one.

I think he is concentrating on one but just wants to use the other name.. Just like gfy.. Only he may want the domain to be it's own entity in appearance. So why not? Google? Sorry but they aren't going to care about 1 or even 5 domains being parked. 100? maybe.

I'm not thinking of Google. I am thinking that if there are two domains you risk the possibility of diluting them from a user perspective. Personally I'd 301 one domain to the other. YMMV.

But google is going to penalize a 301. Users don't really give a shit. In fact most probably wouldn't even know.

That's correct..... 301 is always the way to redirect.

Making two seperate sites on two seperate domains with the same or very similar content risks a duplicate content penalty on any of the latest search engines.

That's incorrect and a commonly held misunderstanding of the mythical duplicate content penalty across different sites. Duplicate content is bad if it's on your own site.

The real risk here is that one will be canonical and the other won't if you run two sites with the same content. You need to use the rel="canonical" tag to sort that out.

I still wouldn't run two sites. I would 301 the less important domain to the more important domain.

I wouldn't recommend creating two sites. Just 301 one to the other and have done with it. If you were going to create two separate sites, doing it with the same content is not the way forward.

i am not sure there will be duplicate content penalty , as there is not much content on site . as i have mentioned its provides service ., e.g. ping sitemap website /whois website etc.

anyways i like 301 idea better.
