Nah, I have found it is quite a bit harder to make a living as a programmer in the adult world then in the mainstream world.
The main hurdle being the prices you can charge.
In mainstream progamming (not necessarilly web) I can charge $150/hour for system design, $100/hur or so for app design and db design and I can usually get $75-100/hour for the actual programming and testing.
On the adult web, if I give a client a quote at $50.00 an hour for all the above functions, they choke and laugh a lot and I start hearing all about how little they can get a russian programmer to do the same thing for.
Which is why you don't see me out here hawking my programming/design skills too much.
Best way for a programmer to make decent money in the adult web is to come up with a god solid app and sell it many many times
