A PHP / MYSQL programmer in your country costs ?

I guess that all depends on what level of programmer you get, whether or not he/she knows english and if you want your work to be done properly/on time.

English speaking, and doing a good job.
I mean, it doesn't have to be freakin' whizzkid..I don't care HOW he does it, just as long as I get the result I want..

A customer told me he found a great opportunity : an indian programmer who also do complete webdesign for less than $200/month
2 weeks later he fired the guy, don't know why

there is a guy from ukraine that works for like 20/hr and you dont ahve to pay him untill you are satisfied with work. his AIM name is mitrich2002 ask him

Nice promo for him, but I'm very satisfied with the $5 work..

I mean.. I ask him to make something, he does that, I tell him to change this and that, he does and I pay him. The guy in Holland won't do it any better..

The problem with this mentality is you can quite easily be burned by your 'developer' not writing PROPER code. You many not care HOW he does it because it looks like it works fine, but unless its written by someone who has experience in what NOT to do, you can, and probably will be, burned.

Put another way, just because there are 5 ways to do something doesn't mean that 4 of them are really fucking stupid.

I totally agree.. But, life isn't as expensive in his country than it is in mine..
They pay $150 rent a month.. I can't even eat for that money an entire week..
It doesn't have to mean he's a bad programmer ??

I'm sure there are PHP/MySQL people here in the Philippines but they are quite rare. More common are Microsoft-trained personnel in ASP/SQL Those guys range from low of $300 (1 to 2 yrs exp) upwards.
