people really over reacted to the whole Columbine school shooting ordeal

only 12 people died and 23 people were wounded

    not really that many people

a copy cat killer at his school in Germany killed more people(16) but the media didnt really give two shits about that.

maybe it was such a huge ordeal because the two (ages 17 & 18) had so much firepower. they were armed to the fucking teeth and had a nice arsenal of explosives.

they killed a bunch of deeply religious kids(yay) and a few other retards and then ended their own lives.

    a big loss ? nope

You might feel differently if one of them was your kid brother or your niece or something.

    "No big loss"??

I don't know man.. I think you're way out to lunch on this one.

Changing any human life into a statistic makes it no big deal.

in the big picture of things, the death toll and loss was not big deal. more people died from starvation on 4/20/99 then in Columbine High School.

but what came FROM their actions was. had a huge effect on school rules and what was accepted. clear/see-thru backpacks went into play, increase of metal detectors, etc.

it was a horrid event, true. the media blew it out or proportions. feeding off of the fear and stupidity of americans. when it first happened the media portrayed Eric and Dylan as kids geeky loners, who were picked on at school , which was later to be proved FALSE. they both had histories and mental and emotional problems.

they carefully planned out their attack for months. they aquired massive amounts of ammo and guns before hand and even sought out certain students to kill. it was brillant I think.

I can't believe I'm agreeing with nofx, but I am. Tragic? Of course. End of the world and worth creating new regulation after regulation? Absolutely not. In the grand scheme of things, 30 people is nothing.

think about it, no one even probably remembers much about Columbine. whens the last time you even thought about it until you read this thread?

                            A) 15 died in Columbine

                            B) the American media tend to focus moreon things that happen in America as I'm sure German media focus on thigns in Germany.

                            C) you're fucking moron. don't breed and shoot yourself in the head so the world can be rid of one less idiot.
