I had the squeaking noice you describe when I tore my ligaments in my ankle , but that is not your prob. LeslieSharp sounds spot on. Ibruprofen, cervical pillow, a good matress, watch your posture, strengthen your stomach muscles (protects that lower back), stretch, traction...drink lots of water and maybe take some bone and joint stuff to lube up the joints.

I have arthritis , herniated discs , and bone spurs in the neck and bad scoliosis of the spine..I can sometimes be in pain for long periods of time.

There is a whole lot of foods that will aggravate bone problems too.

forgot to add that these are the things that help me manage my back pain and were suggested by my dr.

good luck and hope you feel better
