There is nothing a mac can do that a pc cannot... HOWEVER there is lots a mac CANNOT do that a pc can.. End of discussion.

Actually, Mac boxes rock if you do intensive graphics and video work.

I do, and I dont need no stinkin macs. Get over the myth from the late 90's and early 2000 nothin a mac can do that I cant. Nor are they faster. Thats all I do all day long. Video capturing, encoding, rendering, photo retouching, HD editing, rendering, encoding. Dont need no stinkin macs.

Does Windows have Final Cut Pro? Nope. Apple's are better for video editing because you don't have to buy 50 different pieces of software to get what FCP has altogether.I do, and I dont need no stinkin macs. I used to use a mac 100% of the time as they were handed down from my dad years ago. Never had a problem with them. Then I bought a PC and had no issues with it either. I was on a PC for 6-7 years then last week I bought a MacBook and I have to say you can't keep me off it. Sure I still use a PC but I use the Mac 90% of the time.

FCP is Adobe Premiere 2.0... Nearly identicle. You are talking to a video editor who does it all day long. lol

Hmm odd I dont get viri or spyware.... Hmm maybe its more whether a user knows what they are doing, and maybe ......... just maybe the people that write things like that are going after the MUCH larger market share..... hmmmmm

Not opinion, fact. The single button mouse is easy for the "slower folks" to manipulate. The easy to navigate large icons show clearly through very thick glasses, and the keyboards hold up to drool exceptionally well.
Plus it's nice to spend twice as much to do a tenth as much. My Uncle's brain capacity is about a tenth of a normal brain, so it's a perfect fit!

As soon as you mention the single mouse button you just declared yourself as not having a clue. Not opinion, fact. The single button mouse is easy for the "slower folks" to manipulate. I didn't know Windows made a mouse. Wait, isn't Windows made by Microsoft, ya, the company that has never actually developed anything themselves, but just buy other companies and take their products?Comment

Sticky, In the commercial design and print business mac's are/were the only way to go. Same was true for photography and most video. Those that aren't into computers and don't give a fuck about surfing, games, etc but use our computers as a tool to get our specific work niche completed have always found mac's the easiest and most trouble free.
Some long term mac users like myself ended up using them by default. The programs we needed just worked better in mac's. Some programs came as a factory option. Apple CARED about compatibility for it's professional users. It had to, that was it's 2% market share niche.
My first big buck setup was IBM, Avid and Photoshop ... bundled in a "Pro" package. Nothing fucking worked, everyone blamed everyone. Everything was eventually returned.
Most GFY members are very computer/tech savvy. Except for a few Apple/geeks most of us view our computers as a tool to get to our job done and have no interest in the machine it's self. Pc's have improved quite a bit, so what? Mac's are still chugging along working well for those that have always had to use them.Comment

Mac is the VERY best for print or graphics. But other than that they are only good for surfing, and playing around.
Now if you want an awesome monitor, check out the ones in the mac store, and yes they work on PC's.PornGuy skype me pornguy_epic

That's right, macs have moved beyond single button mice as well as buttons all together. Macs mouse is pressure sensitive, kind of like your head. Not opinion, fact. The single button mouse is easy for the "slower folks" to manipulate. The easy to navigate large icons show clearly through very thick glasses, and the keyboards hold up to drool exceptionally well.

I used to hate macs but since OSX, I've changed my view and purchased a macbook, I'll never use windows again (except to play games)!!!!
OSX being based off of OpenBSD, makes it the obvoius solution for me, as i never develope for servers running IIS or MSSQL, nor am i using windows running apache which has differences that i'd have to watch for. Just makes a PHP programmers life much easier, and more productive.
Being a programmer, that doesn't write windows apps, I have no need for windows, an i'm happy with a stable OS. (that btw is as fast as it was the day i bought it)
To each their own though, use what ever makes you productive.Comment
