A big majority of GFY users post to expose their sig - there are ones that post to interact and by doing so expose their sig, and there are ones that post simply shite to expose their sig.
IMHO, anyone with an average post count count of >25 posts per day is a useless sig whore (or just damn bored or sad)

I don't know why, but I find the ignore option even more annoying and in-your-face than not ignoring them...
"This person is in your ignore list"
or whatever it says stands out far greater than the drabble they post and makes me check who it is which gets me frustrated.
A far far better option would be to hack the software to totally erase the table row showing their post....
